The Wise Hope Shelter and Crisis Center was formed in 1997 by a group of survivors of domestic abuse and others interested in providing local services for victims. The long range goal  is to provide shelter services to victims and their children in need of temporary safe housing. 

The Wise Hope Shelter and Crisis Center employs a full-time Victims Services Coordinator who assists victims with the judicial process, finding safe shelter, and referrals for counseling or other helpful services.
