Court Security

courthouseSS The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for creating a safe environment for visitors and court house employees. In case of Emergency at the Wise County Court House call 911.  911 operators will then notify Court House Security Supervisor Sergeant Chad Sutton, Deputy Randy Eyster, and all other emergency personnel.Emergency evacuation plans  will be implemented in case of a fire, bomb threat, natural disaster, or any other lawful reason.

Court Security located at the courthouse include Deputy Dick Wood who is assigned as bailiff to Judge John Fostel, the 271st Judicial District Court which covers both Wise and Jack Counties. All felony cases that occur in Wise and Jack Counties are tried in District Court.

Deputy Kirk Gibson, bailiff, is assigned to the Wise County Criminal Court at Law. Judge Melton Cude hears all Class A and B misdemeanor cases. Judge Cudes’ Courtroom is located on the third floor of the courthouse.

Deputy Jason Ingram is assigned as bailiff to Wise County Court at Law No. 2 located in the Wise County Annex Building at 1007 13th St., Ste. 109 in Bridgeport, Texas. Judge Stephen J. Wren began hearing probate, family, guardianship and other civil cases beginning October of 2011.
