11-28-06 TRAFFIC SWITCH - Bill Nelson, area
engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation, said Monday that Dec. 6 is
the target day to make the switch to put all traffic on the new concrete
pavement on U.S. 380. New signs will be erected soon at all intersecting roads
of U.S. 380 between Bridgeport and Decatur to warn drivers that traffic is on
the new roadway. After the traffic switch is made, work will begin constructing
the remaining portions of the westbound lanes. Construction is expected to
continue through next summer, with completion projected in the fall of 2007.
Should weather or other factors prevent the switch on Dec. 6, the switch will be
done the following day or day after. Sgt
